The Drywise Filament Dryer takes the guesswork out of 3D printing hygroscopic materials. Drywise needs around 50 minutes to pre-treat your filament and bring it to the best printing condition before you can start 3D printing. A line-dry design ensures that long 3D prints are always printed with uniform material dried under the best printing conditions.

FDM hygroscopic filaments tend to absorb significant amounts of moisture from the environment over the course of a few days. The presence of moisture in the filaments can affect the mechanical properties of the printed part, cause print failure, and cause visible artifacts during printing, including: poor surface finish, stringing, and oozing.

As a result, moisture sensitive materials must be dried before printing; however, without special storage or pretreatment, print quality can still degrade noticeably, especially over the course of a longer print.
